The increase in electric car popularity has made the automotive industry shift its focus towards electric cars that disrupt its industrial landscapes. Hence, efforts are needed to analyze the potential changes required by the current Indonesia automotive industry to accommodate the transition to electric cars. The study surveyed car manufacturers and component suppliers, analyzing their perceptions and assessing the importance of the electric car market. Data were gathered via online and on-site surveys and were subjected to descriptive statistical analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and cluster analysis. Results indicated that successful market penetration of electric cars hinges on strategic decisions and effective coordination among stakeholders. Research and development, along with equipment modifications, are expected to increase, necessitating a streamlined supply chain to manage fluctuating demand. Close collaboration between component suppliers and car manufacturers is essential to sustain value-added operations.
Alif Nadhif Rabbani, Muhammad Habiburrahman, Rahmat Nurcahyo Copyright (c) 2024 Communications in Humanities and Social Sciences https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://chss.kipmi.or.id/journal/article/view/68 Thu, 18 Jul 2024 00:00:00 +0700 Strategic digital public relations in the Madiun Precinct Police: Insights from a public service perspective https://chss.kipmi.or.id/journal/article/view/64
This research aims to explain the management of digital PR in the Madiun Precinct Police from the perspective of Phillips and Young. The achievements of the Madiun Precinct Police's PR are inseparable from the demands of digital technology and the capacity of the Madiun Precinct Police as a public service institution. The Madiun Precinct Police's PR utilizes digital PR not only to provide information but also to solidify public communication for the maintenance of public safety and order. With the role of PR and the achievements attained, this poses a challenge for the Madiun Precinct Police's PR in managing digital PR. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed by applying the five fundamental elements of digital PR by Phillips and Young, which include transparency, porosity, the internet as an agent, richness in content, and reach. The research findings indicate that the management of digital PR has been achieved with the readiness of an online system that includes supporting components such as platforms, channels, and context. Public information services are carried out clearly and openly, with information dissemination through the internet being controlled. The transformation of messages from PR to the public does not preclude the possibility of change. In the event of misinformation, PR will follow up incidentally. As public servants, the Madiun Precinct Police's PR is required to be capable of creating creative content and skilled in managing social media.
Sumekar Tanjung, Ahmad Fattah AsmaĆ Copyright (c) 2024 Communications in Humanities and Social Sciences https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://chss.kipmi.or.id/journal/article/view/64 Thu, 18 Jul 2024 00:00:00 +0700 How South Korea's waste management system becomes a model for the world: What Indonesia can learn from South Korea's experience https://chss.kipmi.or.id/journal/article/view/71
This article explores South Korea's waste management system, focusing on effective food waste management, a key factor contributing to the country's overall success in waste management. The effectiveness of the South Korean system has made it a case study model for government officials in other countries. This article uses qualitative methods, relying on journal references from the Scopus database, with additional references obtained through Harzing's Publish or Perish. The data analysis was conducted using VOSviewer, an application designed to visualize keywords across all the compiled references. The findings show that South Korea's renowned efficient waste management system focuses on key aspects such as Government Initiatives, Waste Segregation, Pay-as-You-Throw System, Recycling Facilities, Waste-to-Energy Plants, Public Awareness and Education, as well as Enforcement and Penalties. Indonesia needs to explore and adopt several initiatives and strategies for efficiently managing various types of waste. This imperative arises particularly in light of the UNEP Food Waste Index 2021 report, which reveals that Indonesia has emerged as the Southeast Asian country with the highest food waste production.
Gonda Yumitro, Sukma Oktaviani, Shannaz Mutiara Deniar Copyright (c) 2024 Communications in Humanities and Social Sciences https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://chss.kipmi.or.id/journal/article/view/71 Thu, 18 Jul 2024 00:00:00 +0700 Resilience mechanisms of social enterprises in times of crisis https://chss.kipmi.or.id/journal/article/view/72
Unlike typical organizations, social enterprises are considered inherently vulnerable in view of their integration of two distinct institutional logics: economic and social. This duality, however, also positions social enterprises as a crucial societal agent, particularly in Indonesia, for addressing any intricate social issues. In turn, this research aims to examine the challenges, resilience sources, and strategies that social enterprises employ to maintain resilience during crises. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with five social enterprise founders and utilize the framework analysis technique to analyze data collected. Data triangulation was achieved by supplementing interview data with secondary sources, including reports, websites, and social media from all participants. The study identified two primary resilience sources: internal and external factors. Notably, the resilience process can be articulated through four mechanisms: social imprinting, community dynamics, weak ties, and Gotong Royong (mutual cooperation). This research aims to contribute to the theoretical understanding of social enterprise resilience and relationships, while also offering practical insights for social enterprises to enhance their resilience.
Radikal Yuda Utama, Babita Bhatt Copyright (c) 2024 Communications in Humanities and Social Sciences https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://chss.kipmi.or.id/journal/article/view/72 Thu, 18 Jul 2024 00:00:00 +0700 Infrastructure communication: A systematic literature review https://chss.kipmi.or.id/journal/article/view/63
In the last few decades, research on communication and development has developed due to the emergence of many development theories in third-world countries. This research aims to determine the research trends in the infrastructure sector from a communication perspective and identify gaps. Papers were selected based on specific words relevant to the issue of development communication and infrastructure communication throughout Indonesia. A total of 33 papers from international and national journals were analyzed to find several paper themes, and analyzed based on categories that emerged from these themes. The analysis results showed that there were only four papers still dominated by development communication. This study also identified gaps in the literature on infrastructure communication, especially those using Niklas Luhmann's Communication Theory. This systematic research (Systematic Literature Review) used the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-analysis) method in which, as found, there has been no research on the theme of infrastructure in the field of communication science specifically looking at how it occurs or how communication on infrastructure communication itself really is. It is important to see the infrastructure problem entirely and cross-sectional subject in a unified system - not as the pieces of events in one research object/area. An understanding of communication issues in infrastructure development will make it easier for various parties to determine future communication.
Ratna Widianingrum, Hermin Indah Wahyuni, Rahayu Copyright (c) 2024 Communications in Humanities and Social Sciences https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://chss.kipmi.or.id/journal/article/view/63 Thu, 18 Jul 2024 00:00:00 +0700 The effect of e-service quality on customer satisfaction and customer loyalty: A study on mobile banking application in Indonesia https://chss.kipmi.or.id/journal/article/view/73
In the current globalization, technology and information are one of the most rapidly developing aspects of world life. Technological advances facilitate customers and companies in many fields, one of which is in banking sector. Some banking transactions that can be done via the internet or online include fund transfers, payment of electricity/water bills and e-commerce, investment and top-up of credit/data packages. In the last 5 years from January 2018 to April 2023, digital banking transactions in Indonesia grew by 158% as, for instance, seen in the growth of BNI Mobile Banking users in February 2023 reaching 14.03 million users. This number jumped 25% (YoY) when compared to the same period of the previous year by 11.22 million users. The effectiveness and efficiency of e-service quality in facilitating online shopping, buying, and delivery processes define its interaction with services. This concept encompasses two main dimensions: utilitarian and hedonistic. The utilitarian aspect focuses on practical elements such as security, privacy, and user-friendliness, while the hedonistic dimension is more subjective and individualized, emphasizing the enjoyment and emotional satisfaction derived from the shopping experience, rather than merely accomplishing a task. This aspect highlights the potential for pleasure and emotional value in both the process of shopping and the use of purchased items. This research used the PLS-SEM approach. The results of the analysis in this study revealed a number of variables that can optimally improve e-service quality and customer loyalty for BNI mobile banking in Indonesia.
Lindsay Beanning, Zulkarnain Copyright (c) 2024 Communications in Humanities and Social Sciences https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://chss.kipmi.or.id/journal/article/view/73 Thu, 18 Jul 2024 00:00:00 +0700
